What inspired you to get involved with the Children’s Museum?
” I have an energetic 3-year-old daughter at home, and as a new father raising a family in Sarasota, I can certainly see the demand for a children’s museum in the local area. I am also extremely proud to serve as General Counsel for SCM, and I am grateful to work alongside such talented visionaries and with such incredible community partners.”
Can you share a favorite childhood memory that sparked your passion for Sarasota to have a children’s museum and you being a part of bringing that to reality?
“ I was born and raised in Sarasota and as I reflect on some of my favorite childhood memories, I remember my parents routinely taking my brother and I to G-Wiz in Sarasota and to the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa.”
What’s an interactive exhibit or educational program you would love to see at the museum, and why?
“Early childhood development is so important, and being able to incorporate exhibits to elicit sensory/motor skills would be incredible.”
If you could have any superpower to help you in your role, what would it be and why?
“As a litigator, critical thinking and analytical reasoning are an integral part of my day-to-day life, and when you are processing high-level information on a routine basis, it is easy to lose patience dealing with the other facets of my life. An ideal superpower would be to have the ability to automatically turn stress into energy and positivity. My daughter Emma never forgets to remind Dada to “take a deep breath.” Lol.”
What are your hobbies or special talents that might surprise people?
“I am an avid saltwater fisherman and when I’m not working or spending time with my family, you can catch me deep sea fishing offshore in the Gulf of Mexico for pelagic and reef fish.”
If you could host a dinner party with any three characters from children’s books or movies, who would they be and why?
“Interesting question. I would probably invite the 3 little pigs over for some fresh grilled red snapper and to talk about construction/building strategy and the importance of having adequate homeowners and flood insurance coverage.”
